Lynnwood Park Zoo located in Jacksonville, N.C. is home to more than 250 types of animals and is set on a 10 acre parcel and has a 1/2 acre pond next to the picnic area. Animal exhibits include such types as land mammals, exotic birds, water fowl, hoofed stock and reptiles. Visitors can tour the zoo by strolling hard packed dirt trails that are protected by a natural canopy of trees and vegetation.

Some of the animals on display include:

Mammals: Zebra, Wallaby, Ocelot, Grey Fox, Antelope, Coatimundis, Mara, Pigmy Goats, Donkey, Scottish Highland Cows, Llama, Potbellied Pig, Serval cat, Arctic Fox, Barbary Sheep, Four Horned Sheep, Capybara, Mara, Skunk, Red Fox, and Welsh Mountain Sheep.

Reptiles: American Alligator, Burmese Python, Corn Snake, King Snake, Rat Snake, Eastern Box Turtle, Savannah Monitor, and Blue Tongued Skink.

Birds: Barn Owl, Emu, Canada Goose, Turkey, Red Golden Pheasant, Polish Chicken, Silver Pheasant, Black Shoulder Peafowl, and Mallard Ducks.

The zoo is open from Friday through Monday from 10:00AM – 5:00PM. There is a entrance fee. Tours can be scheduled for groups of 20 or more.
